The second generation Audi A3 was first launched at the Geneva Motor Show in 2003. The A3 Type 8P was designed by Walter De’Silva. It had four cylinders with a three-door hatchback installation. Two other sports car versions were released in mid-2003, equipped with a 3.2L V6 engine that had a power rating of 247 bhp and 2.0 Turbo-FSI versions with an output of 197 bhp.
Shortly after a year, a new Sportback car with a five-door body was launched. This car was 80mm longer compared to the previous three-door body car. It also included a larger luggage area along with advanced cabin space. In North America, this car was introduced in 2005 as a 2006 model car.
Inspired by the Audi A3, Audi released a reality game called The Heist. In 2007, Audi replaced the non-turbo FSI engine with the turbocharged 1.8 TFSI engine with a capacity of 1.8 L. A number of changes were made to the A3 and S3 models in 2008, including engine power5 and speed. . About a year ago, the A3 model received the award for maximum safety from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The 2.0T FSI engine was also awarded International Engine of the Year in 2007. In Business Week magazine, this car was awarded the centralized theme in 2006.
The A3 has been a major product in Audi’s marketing line, but Audi will likely phase out this production model entirely in the near future.
