Q: Are all mediums real? Is it possible that a psychic or medium only appears to be exact, when in fact they are making it up? What about mediums who are “in” SOME times, for some of the people … but for others, they are guessing, reaching, or just cold reading all the time?

A: The truth is that we receive a lot of questions about false, fraudulent psychics or mediums, impostors or simply BAD. Interestingly, many times someone thinks that they have been scammed, or that they have been taken advantage of by a psychic or spiritual coach and that someone else thinks they were successful, or that they have offered them a fantastically valuable experience.

Can those 2 things be reconciled? Can a medium be incredibly ON one day … and off and OFF the next?

The answer is YES, and in our experience, in the same way that psychic or spiritual “abilities” are also manifested in the real world.

Here’s a quick example:

I compare a really good medium to a really talented artist or athlete, who has a special ability or unusual ability that often requires the right circumstances to thrive.

I’ve seen amazing artists create a masterpiece on Monday … and then, for whatever reason, create a junk or something of no artistic value the next day.

We’ve all seen athletes put on incredible record-setting performances one day and literally look like world champions that can’t be stopped. A few days or a week later (depending on the sport) they may not be able to do ANYTHING right, and you almost forget how much they shone in their previous performance.

That’s really the number of psychics operating in my experience, and another reason why so many really gifted intuitives don’t do very well in “lab” conditions either. If you took a world-class artist or musician and put them in a lab where other people would rate and review every inspired brushstroke or musical note, most would NOT do as well as they do in their ‘natural’ setting, it’s more comfortable, too. .

One of my favorite spiritual teachers and a talented medium once told me that for a reading to be REALLY good, you need 3 parts to do your part.

He needed to be on top of his game.

Your customer or the caller had to be open, engaged and present.

And the loved one in “spirit” needed to show up too, do his part, and play his part as well.

When those 3 factors came together …

The experiences invariably changed the life of the client and also of her as a reader. (and probably really rewarding for those in spirit … who were also able to convey a message of hope, health, and healing to their loved ones on THIS side!)
