If you’ve been stung by a scorpion, or live in a scorpion-infested area, you’ve probably asked yourself the question, “Can a home be scorpion-proof?” The answer … There are some simple steps you can take to HELP make your home Scorpion PROOF!

I say HELP Scorpion Proof Your Home for a couple of reasons. First of all, scorpions only need a small crack (1/16 inch wide to be exact) to enter a home. Chances are, you won’t be able to seal every tiny crack around your home. Second, scorpions are hunters and will continue to come from neighboring properties, the desert, and green belt areas. You really must keep your professional pest control service running to ensure full scorpion control within your home and garden!

Like any insect, scorpions need food, moisture, and shelter to survive. Remove these scorpion resources from your home and garden to help Seal Scorpions and gain MAXIMUM Control!

  • Eliminate shelter areas in your yard that attract scorpions and their prey, such as: piles of wood, piles of leaves, overgrown bushes, tree bark, large to medium rocks, and debris.
  • Scorpions and the insects they feed on are looking for moisture, so make sure your outdoor irrigation system is working properly, not excessively. Do not allow areas to accumulate.
  • Make sure all your DOOR SCREENS and weatherstripping are in good condition and replace the old ones.
  • MASSAGE around all doors, windows, utility pipes and cables that enter your home.
  • If you have a cinder block wall fence, use CONCRETE SCREEN on the blocks and cracks in the “I” (connecting) block fence.
  • Seal your concrete expansion joints around your home, garage, pool, and sidewalks with concrete caulk.
  • Prevent professional pest control treatments from absorbing into block wall fences by SEALING the fence with acrylic paint or similar sealant.
  • Use ONLY YELLOW BULBS outside! They are less attractive to the insects that scorpions feed on such as: CRICKETS, beetles and MANY more!
  • Place copper mesh on the tears in your home. (between stucco or siding and foundation. You can usually fit under stucco exterior walls) For smaller areas around drain, just use sealer.
  • MAINTAIN all VENTILATIONS around and at the top of your home that lead indoors. Be careful not to cover the dryer vent to avoid fire hazards.
  • SCREEN extraction fans.
  • MASSAGE around light fixtures, electrical outlet plates, and indoor plumbing pipes.
