Do a search for: FarmVille cheats. FarmVille is the virtual game played by millions on Facebook. This is what will come to you. These are the numbers on three different search engines:

Google- 1,330,000

yahoo – 699,000

Bing-698,000

Apparently there are some people who would like to know how to cheat in this game. FarmVille cheats, as in, how can I cheat my way up? How can I appear to have earned my way by cheating (without letting others know I am a cheater)? How can I appear to be ‘in the know’ when I am not?

I have never played the game. Actually, I have never played any virtual games. But, my point here is the famous shortcut. Easy. Get rich quick.

It seems to be the prevailing thought in our society: if there’s an easy way, count me in.

We are looking for the path of least resistance.

This attitude would explain why not many of us can play Chopin on the piano. This would also explain why there aren’t many people with black belts in martial arts. Why have so comparatively few run a marathon?

We are the second fattest industrialized nation in the world according to an extensive report by The Lancet. Thanks Kuwait lol. It seems easy to gobble down a Big Mac (large size please!). Years of piano lessons, not so much.

It’s also very easy to pick up the phone and ask for the best exercise machine that works. However, it is not so easy to commit to using it to collect the money back guarantee.

Dammit. I want the magic pill. And I want it now!

This article was inspired in part by an article I read on Jonathan Fields’ blog. The article is titled ‘Making money with quitters’. You will see my comment. The article criticizes the corporate world of gyms for counting and expecting people to quit. It helps the end result. If all the members of a club showed up at once, well, let’s just say it would be chaos. Bigger clubs would have to be built. Maintenance costs would increase. It’s better for the gym if you join, and then sit on your ass and have your Big Mac.

So. Whose fault is it? Maybe we should blame both McDonald’s and the corporate world of gyms. McDonald’s for having such an irresistible burger. And, the health club corporations for simply not caring about meeting our needs. We should also blame the bread makers, for making good buns for those good burgers. And exercise equipment manufacturers for making good exercise equipment that we don’t use because companies don’t care about meeting our needs. Pickle makers are also to blame. In fact, there is a lot of blame to go around. I would like to take this opportunity to blame my parents, because if they had used the car three years earlier, I would have invented the Internet. 🙂

Since I didn’t, I think we’ll meet at McDonald’s and talk about how the gym corporations ripped us off (for a Big Mac).

PS Please bring a copy of ‘How I Cheated My Way to the Top of FarmVille’.

We will read it together.
