Allergy Relief Oil: Aromatherapy First Aid Kit

Aromatherapy is nature’s medicine in its purest and most essential form. Aromatic Oils are the very soul of a plant. Even a drop or two can produce significant results for your body, mind, and spirit.

The growing respect for aromatherapy in the general public, hospitals and medical centers around the world speaks for itself, as more and more people benefit from this gentle and subtle, yet highly effective therapy.

Whether you use aromatherapy on its own or as a supplemental first aid treatment, there are several scent oils that I would like to recommend that you have in your aromatherapy essential oil kit.

My recommendations include important details to consider when purchasing an oil, such as its Latin name, country of origin, extraction method, and part of the plant used. I also list the best oils to consider when creating a synergistic blend.

BLUE TANSY (Tanacetum anuum ~ Moroccan blue chamomile) Steam distilled wildflowers from Morocco.

The luscious fragrance of Blue Tansy is warmly herbaceous with a complex sweetness that reminds me of apples with a hint of spice. Most people invariably love the pleasant and welcoming aroma of this oil!

Keywords: ALLERGIES AND PAIN RELIEF Blue Tansy is high in azulene which gives it a deep, deep blue color. It can stain, so be careful! Azulene gives Blue Tansy its characteristics and powerful vascular and bronchial-dialating properties, which makes it a very effective natural antihistamine and anti-inflammatory.

Blue Tansy’s natural anti-inflammatory action makes it an exceptionally good relaxant. It relieves nervous tension and stress and can be used alone or in a mixture to relieve muscle pain, aches and pains, sprains and strains, arthritis, rheumatism, and sciatica.

Due to its bronchial-dilating properties, Blue Tansy can be beneficial for allergy and asthma sufferers, so mixing it with Lemongrass will enhance this effect. Its pain-relieving properties can also help reduce swelling or itching associated with allergies.

I have had great success using Blue Tansy with clients who have suffered from chronic allergic reactions to environmental allergens for years.

Blue Tansy is also known to soothe burns and inflamed or sun-damaged skin. My friend Sylla, owner of the Atlantic Institute of Aromatherapy, used Blue Tansy to alleviate the effects of her radiation treatment for cancer.

Aside from a synergistic blend with Lemongrass to enhance its bronchial-dialating properties for asthma sufferers, Blue Tansy is delicious on its own!
