About Mussoorie

Mussoorie also considers as ‘Queen of the Hills’ a hill station and municipal council in the Dehradun district of Uttarakhand state in northern India. It has an average height of 1,880 meters (6,170 feet). To the northeast are the snow-capped ranges of the Himalayas and to the south, the Doon Valley and Shiwalik ranges. It only takes 1 hour and a half from Dehradoon to Mussoorie with a distance of around 34.6 km. It has become a tourist spot with a tremendous increase in visitors every year.

Generally, winters (from late October to mid-February) in Mussoorie are very cold and chilling.

Kempty Fall, a waterfall located at an altitude of around 4,500 feet, is among the most popular tourist spots in Queen of Hills. The water is extremely cold and the place is quite slippery with many small fish. There is a proper arrangement of the locker facilities, so do not worry about important things. There are several ponds there, so if someone wants to dive into the water, they can choose wisely.

Mall Road is Mussoorie’s center of attraction. It is a place where you can enjoy shopping for clothes and there are also numerous handicraft items. Mall Road has several steep slopes along the way, so it will be difficult for senior citizens to explore there. Besides this, it has a very good place to capture moments. Mall Road is also famous for a wala omelette.

The lake is located on the Mussoorie-Dehradoon road. It is a beautiful place for people looking for calm and peace. Visitors can bring food with them, but that is totally optional, there are several stores that offer good snacks. Couples loved spending quality time here. You have to row the boat to move it from one place to another. The lake is well maintained by the authority and they charge a very nominal amount for entrance fees. The lake is a essence of Mussorie and an experience here is highly recommended.
