How to cook a delicious rice with vegetables

Vegetable rice is a balanced meal. Cook the rice in a rice cooker. It is easy and quick to prepare this dish. Put all the ingredients together with the rice.

Cook rice with any leafy vegetables. You need to season the rice with some spices and seasonings to get the right flavor. Add meat, poultry, and seafood to enhance the flavor. This is a complete meal by itself. This recipe is suitable for vegetarians. In this recipe I use a type of vegetable known as a ‘bitter vegetable’. It is a green leafy vegetable and is easily grown in the backyard. People use these kinds of vegetables to make ‘Chinese Salted Vegetables’. The vegetable taste is quite bitter. To get rid of bitterness, cook with rice or dishes with some sauces. Not all people like the bitter taste of vegetables, especially children.

Other types of vegetables can replace this vegetable. Some people like to mix many different types of vegetables.

Ingredients:

3-4 pieces of bitter greens

1 tomato (cut into cubes)

2 mushrooms (soak and cut into cubes)

5-6 onions (thinly sliced)

2 teaspoons seasoning

2 cups of water

2 cups of rice

a little oil to fry

Method:

1. Wash two cups of rice and put in a pot or rice cooker with two cups of water. Add a little seasoning to the rice. The seasoning is to your liking.

2. Soak the mushrooms until tender, and then cut into cubes. To soften the mushrooms, submerge them in boiling water. Discard the water once the mushrooms are soft. When it has cooled, cut them into small cubes.

3. Cut the vegetables into small slices about three centimeters long. Cut the tomato into small cubes.

4. Peel and finely chop the onions. Scoop out some sliced ​​onions and fry until golden brown for garnish.

5. Heat a pan or pot with a little oil and fry some sliced ​​onions until fragrant. Add all the chopped ingredients until half cooked. It is not necessary to fully cook the vegetables.

6. Add a little seasoning and place the half-cooked vegetables on a plate.

7. Add the prepared vegetables to the rice cooker.

8. Cook the mixture until ready. The rice will be soft and fluffy. Serve on a plate with some fried onions.

Note: If the meal is not for vegetarians, mix the rice with some meat, shrimp or chicken.
