Believe it or not, I am frequently asked how to fix dented bingo balls.

You know, you are calling bingo and for some reason ‘B12’ appears with a dent in the side. Obviously, you can’t keep calling bingo with a dented bingo ball. Your bingo players would scream bloody murder and with good reason. You cannot call a fair bingo game if the equipment is damaged.

So what can you do? Well, I have never seen a dented bingo ball fixed by simply pressing or pushing the dent with your hand. So, I don’t think that works. No matter how much you press, the dent will not go away.

Well here’s a home remedy I’ve used to fix dented balls and save bingo managers the trouble of buying a brand new game:

1. In a bowl, heat a little water until it is almost boiling.

2. Place your dented bingo ball in the hot water.

3. Use a spoon or other device to keep the ball under the water to the best of your ability.

4. Soon, the ping pong ball will soften a bit and the dent will be repaired.

It’s actually pretty easy!

Now this will not work for broken bingo balls. The cracked bingo balls are ready and you can throw them away too. Also, it will not work with miniature or wooden bingo balls.

Finally, I cannot guarantee this will work. While I have used this method to repair balls successfully several times, it is quite possible that I could destroy one more ball. In other words, use this home remedy at your own risk. But really, what do you have to lose … a dented bingo ball?

Good luck! Hope this saves you from having to buy a new set of balls the next time you have a small dent.
