Here, Oroville’s Omega Nu will host its annual Valentine Bunco. Tickets are $15 for games beginning at 7 pm at the Oroville Sports Club, 2600 Oro Dam Blvd. Doors open at 6:30 pm There will be prizes and a chance to win a beef hindquarter.

Us February 13thget ready for puppy love and kitty kisses in Chico.

Puppy Love and Kitten Kisses’ eighth annual Valentine’s dinner is on February 2. 13 and this is a major fundraiser for the Butte Humane Society. The theme is “It’s Only Superstition” and participants must wear lucky charms. There will be door prizes, raffles, silent auctions and several live auctions, including a dessert auction and a weekend getaway auction. The Mahoneys will provide musical entertainment. The evening, to be held at the Chico Masonic Family Center, 1110 W. East Ave., will begin at 6 pm A choice of tri-tip or pasta primavera is offered for dinner, along with Italian sides. Tickets are $60 purchased in advance. Tickets will not be sold at the door.

Us February 14th – the big night – be sure to be at the Oroville Rotary Rodeo.

On Valentine’s night, Oroville Rotary will hold its 23rd Annual Rotary Roundup on February 1. 14 in the Municipal Auditorium. Doors will open at 6 pm with a silent auction. A Cattlemen’s Dinner will be served at 7 pm and Cottonwood Music will begin at 8 pm Advance tickets are $25 per person and are available at Tri Counties Bank and Butte Community Bank in Oroville or through any Oroville Rotary Club at noon. This is the club’s largest fundraiser and proceeds will be used to fund their community projects.

Of course, you won’t want to miss the Boys and Girls Club Valentine’s Gala in Chico.

The 10th Annual Valentine’s Gala benefiting the Boys and Girls Club of the North Valley will be held on February 1st. 14 at Bell Memorial Union at Chico State University. The evening will feature dinner, entertainment by the Wildcat Jazz Ensemble, dancing to the music of disc jockey Greg Scott, and various auctions. Tickets are $85 and the deadline to purchase them is Friday.

A silent auction will showcase a variety of products and services, from diamonds to spa packages, tickets to sports games and sailing trips. A live auction will feature items such as a sport fishing trip to Mexico and a getaway to Hawaii, learning to blow glass and hosting a wine cave party.

With proceeds from the Gala and other private fundraisers, the Boys & Girls Club plans to continue the development of its arts initiative as well as other educational programs benefiting more than 2,500 after-school youth ages six to 18 in eight sites in Chico, Paradise. , Magalia and Oroville.

Then there’s the Historical Society Valentine’s Tea in Oroville.

The Butte County Historical Society is having its first Valentine’s Tea on February 2nd. 14 at two times, 11:30 am and 1:30 pm Tea with scones, jellies, tea sandwiches and desserts will be served. Shelly Blanchei of T. Tea Bar Fusion Cafe will speak at both seats. Historic garments from the society’s vaults will be on display during the event. Each 90-minute seat is limited to 48 people, at Ehmann Home, 1480 Lincoln. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased by sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope payable to BCHS, PO Box 2195, Oroville, CA 95965.

Don’t you fancy that? Why not attend the Chico Women’s Club Valentine’s Dance?

Chico Women’s Club will host a Valentine’s Dance with an open mic session for all ages on February 1st. 14. Participants can bring their favorite CDs and dress up. Between open mic sessions, people can read their favorite poem or love story. The club will offer champagne, sparkling juice and desserts. Tickets are $5-$10 per person. Proceeds will help pay for chairs the club recently purchased.

If that’s not for you, there’s the Sustainability Ball in Chico.

The third annual Sustainability Dance will be held on February 2nd. 14 at the Park Tower Pavilion, 2040 Park Ave. The theme of this year’s event is “Love the Earth Too” and will include a four-course vegetarian meal, cooked and served by students with guest chef David Guzzetti. There will be a silent auction, a bar without a host and performances by the new musical duo, MaMuse and Electric Circus. Tickets are $20 and are available at Lyon’s Books through February 1. 13. There will be limited tickets available at the door. An eight-seat table comes with two free bottles of wine for $160. The fundraiser supports Chico State and Butte College students in their local and regional sustainability efforts.

A Valentine’s Day fundraiser, My Funny Valentine!, for the Chico State Department of Music will be held at 7:30 pm on February 1st. 14 at the Harlen Adams Theater on campus. Chico State’s Rocky Winslow will perform her new composition “She’s Just Dreaming” as well as other Valentine’s favorites such as “You Stepped Out of a Dream,” “The Very Thought of You” and “My FoolishHeart.” He will be joined by Grant Levin, Greg D’Augelli, Dan Kinkle and other guest artists. Advance tickets are $15 for adults, $13 for seniors, and $6 for students and children. Add $2 at the door.

The Bidwell Generals, Small Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, will perform Singing Valentines on February 2nd. 13 and Feb. 14. They go to businesses, homes, restaurants wherever the buyer wants them to perform. They will make two love songs and present a flower arrangement or candy. The cost is $40.

Instead, you may prefer the sounds of the Foothills Choir.

On Feb. 13-14, barbershop quartets will fan out across Butte County to deliver “Singing Valentines” to hundreds of lovebirds in offices, restaurants, schools and homes. The quartets belong to the Sound of the Foothills Chorus from Paradise, a chapter of the 34,000-member Barbershop Harmony Society, based in Nashville, Tennessee. A typical Singing Valentine will include the delivery of two songs, sung in barbershop harmony, by four men dressed in tuxedos. They will also include a small gift and a personalized card with the sender’s sentiments for $40.
