Men are not victims of rape through intercourse because it is an act of male domination. Male rape (by other men) is not so common that men take precautions against it. Men are raped in institutions such as prisons, boarding schools, the armed forces, etc. where the men are incarcerated without the women. The National Crime Victimization Survey defines rape as forced sexual intercourse, that is, vaginal, oral, or anal penetration by an offender.

Male rape is when a man is forced to receive anal intercourse from another man. The recipient can be homosexual or heterosexual. But within a consensual relationship, a homosexual man can positively enjoy being the recipient of anal sex with his male lover. There is similar confusion about vaginal intercourse. A woman is assumed to orgasm with a lover even though she vehemently objects to the same stimulus with a stranger.

Women are rarely convicted of sex crimes. Cases of rape by a woman are extremely rare. A woman forced a chained man to have sex with her. The other cases were rape of minors, which involved sex with minors rather than forced intercourse, between teachers and students. Since a woman does not have an urgent sexual need, she has nothing to gain by forcing herself on a man.

Men are instinctively better fighters than women. Women are paralyzed by fear rather than driven to act. A man can rape a woman because he is physically stronger. He can easily immobilize her and use his body weight to keep her in check. The male sex drive (ejaculating into the vagina) far exceeds the ability of women to expel a man before he ejaculates.

Men cannot understand the anger a woman feels at being penetrated against her will. Obviously, there is the physical damage: the blood, the pain, and the healing process. More importantly, there is the psychological violation of the victim’s ability to make their own decisions. A rape victim feels humiliation, anger and hatred towards a person who has invaded her body and brutally raped her despite her objections. A woman feels fear and disgust when she cannot defend herself from a man’s unwanted sexual advances.

A young man accused of rape suggested in his defense that he had assumed that women should scream for viewing pornography. Most men recognize the signals a woman gives when she wants to have sex. She’s smiling. The introduction to sex is loving and mutual. During intercourse, a woman cooperates. She does not resist. Screaming women are shown in pornography as arousal. In real life, women do not enjoy pain or violence.

The fact that men drug women or get them drunk for sexual intercourse does not lead an objective observer to conclude that enthusiasm for intercourse is shared equally between the sexes. Date rape is a conscious attempt by a man to have sex with a woman when she is incapacitated and so incapable of objecting, defending herself, or even remembering what happened.

There is also sex without consent in which the victim is silent or ineffective in making her objections. They allow their abuser to insist on the goal of penetration because they are too embarrassed, intimidated, or scared to object. Many women report having been raped after the event. They feel like they were manipulated or pressured into having sex when they didn’t want to.

In many developing countries, the age of legal maturity is set lower for girls than for boys. This is because without the benefit of an education and a job, women have no choice but to marry and have children. Girls as young as 10 or 12 are sold as wives to wealthier men in their forties and over.

Young girls don’t have the emotional development to bond with a man. Even when they do, they need a man to return their love to them by being affectionate and considerate, including how he approaches penetrative sex. When a child cries or screams, there can be no illusion that he is enjoying sexual pleasure. Within marriage, a man has the legal right to have regular sexual relations with his wife. This is implicit in all heterosexual relationships.

A man’s right to have sex with his wife is enshrined in law and often makes it impossible for a woman to accuse her husband of rape, no matter how violent the act. Nobody protects these human rights. Like no one else, it stops the sexual and physical abuse of children who are taken in in rich countries. One of the advantages of living in a so-called civilized society is that it is always someone else’s responsibility to do things right.

If she’s too drunk, she can’t give you your consent. Also, silence is not consent. What kind of scoundrel tries to have sex with a girl who’s so drunk she doesn’t know what’s going on? (Alice Carter 2014)
