SHINee’s “Lucifer” Is Devilishly Taking Over The K-Pop World

SHINee’s new hit “Lucifer” came out recently and is taking over the K-pop world with full force. The dance in the video is most notable as it is incredibly complex and difficult. Super Junior’s “Sorry Sorry” dance from last year was a lot easier than the “Lucifer” dance, but by no means as amazing.

Here are some things to keep in mind for the video:

1. SHINee definitely looks much more manly. They no longer act like children. This time, they are definitely trying to prove that they are men. His wardrobe has also changed and they look much more serious than before. Yesterday’s rainbow outfits are no more! Well, this is not always the case as they sometimes go back to their rainbow roots in live performances.

2. The best thing about this song is that, in an industry so flooded with auto-tune, this song is based on SHINee’s singing talent. And, wow, does it ever work? They sing perfectly together and don’t need post-processing to sound good. Compare this to 2NE1’s recent song series, and you’ll hear a big difference in the use of autotune in kpop.

3. You might notice in live performances that Minho doesn’t dance. Recently, while filming another episode of Dream Team, he injured his leg. We’re not talking about something like a sprained ankle here: he can’t dance at all for any of the live performances, so until he heals, he’ll be sitting in a chair for every show.

Surely, you can’t spend an hour on the streets of Korea without hearing SHINee’s “Lucifer” play at least once. It is the most popular song in the world of k-pop, without a doubt. Head over to YouTube to watch the video for yourself. You will see that it got 5,000,000 views in the blink of an eye, and even the dance practice version has over 1,000,000 views as well.
