So Good Boys by Tina Dirmann

Such Good Boys is the true crime story of a 20-year-old college student who suffered verbal and psychological abuse from his emotionally disturbed mother. On the night of January 14, 2003, this same university student, with the help of his younger brother who was also abused but to a lesser extent, strangled this mother. To prevent authorities from identifying his body, he cut off his head and hands.

This book will make you believe in the saying “you reap what you sow” and, as a mother, this book has left me with more doubts and concerns about whether I am raising my children correctly. Because stories are real-life stories, True Crime Books provide insight into what can go wrong, what you can do to avoid certain situations, and much more. of a true crime story has already happened. You know before you start reading who murdered whom. These perpetrators of real crimes don’t know. They have the advantage of keeping their readers enthralled with the prospect of finding out what happens in the end. Really talented to keep you reading and in my opinion most of them are. But not everyone can become a true crime writer.

Tina Dirmann tells this story exactly as it is. It’s simple and factual and I personally love this style of writing. This book begins with a very short chapter on how the body is discovered and then goes back in time to detail the events in the lives of the two boys until their mother is finally murdered.

I do not believe in the physical punishment of children, so it follows that I absolutely detest any form of abuse against children, so I could not show any sympathy for the murder victim.

I think neighbors and friends should have done more. A little bit of interference could have gone a long way toward changing the outcome of this story. Many people are reluctant to report abuse because they feel they are getting involved in the private and internal affairs of another family. As a mother, I would like my neighbors to report any abuse they may see in my home. What if I have a mental illness and can’t see what I’m doing wrong? As a mother, I would like my children’s needs to come first and for them to be protected. The murder victim was definitely suffering from some kind of mental breakdown and in that state of mind was unable to distinguish between right and wrong. People close to the family should have done something.

In short, the book is well written and any mother will feel an emotional tug on her heart when reading this book. You will once again face the enormous responsibilities placed on our doorstep once we become parents and hopefully in most cases we can congratulate ourselves on perhaps not a perfect job raising our children, but for the fact that we are doing our best and hopefully this is good enough for our children.
