Traveling with children can be quite a challenge. Whether they’re your own or someone else’s, meeting a child’s travel needs involves much more than grabbing a CD full of songs and making sudden stops to go to the bathroom. Here, I would share my hard-earned wisdom on how to travel peacefully with children.

take your time

The best thing to take with you, whether at the airport, going from one point to another is extra time. Young children love to explore, and aren’t bothered by the time pressure of travel, so everyone is more likely to stay calm if they reason out stalling, gawking, potty stops, and tantrums into their time frame.

Give them a camera to play

Give your little one a camera, this will encourage him to observe his surroundings and capture the things that interest him the most. He will surprise you with what they have to offer you. Among the images of wheels and feet, you can find images of flower pots, rocks, resting cats, or even helicopters.

Be prepared for bad weather

It is a general advice, dress your child appropriately and comfortably so that a little bad weather does not affect his mood and he stays happy.

book before

Whether you’re staying in a hotel or camping, it pays to book early. Trying to keep the trip natural before the kids isn’t worth it if you arrive at your destination to find you can’t pack a bed or pitch camp and have to hit the road again hungry and tired with the little kids giving you a hard time in the back seat.

Be an application expert

Thanks to apps for kids these days, there’s no need to lug a box full of toys and coloring books into your carry-on when you travel. But in case your phone runs out of battery and to be on the safe side, take a book and a magic color pen with you.

Buy a child tracker

Young children are not big fans of loins or backpacks on a leash, or any kind of infringement on their freedom. So to keep track of your little one, invest in a child locator. The child will wear a small unit attached to his belt or shoe, and you keep a transmitter. If you lose your child, activate the alarm and follow the sound to find the child.

Follow these tips and you will have a smooth trip with your family. Enjoy!
