Using the Google Keyword Tool to Find Your Niche

Well, we find your niche again, because if you follow me, you obviously want to know more. So I go through the steps of a view to find a niche and right now it’s obviously geared towards something you’d like to talk about and something you’re really interested in, because if you’re flying solo, you’re going to be the one doing the writing. the electronic book.

These are very basic ways to take a closer look at your niche and see if it’s feasible to promote and sell information products about it to start an Internet business.

Go to Google Keyword Tool (this is not an affiliate, it’s free)

I’m going to type ‘fashion’ and it throws up a lot of different searched keywords related to fashion.

So I’m going to go ahead and pick one for this example. And I’m going to make it a fashion niche: ‘fashion accessories’. I click the little magnifying glass icon next to it and it sends me to another page with more information on this keyword.

It tells me that the highest demographic for this search term is in the UK.

It also lists other related search terms:-

1. fashion jewelry (click on it and it will tell you the highest demographic is US, this is important) Do that for all related search terms.

2. wholesale fashion accessories

3. Fashionable Hair Accessories

4 hair accessories

5. 2010 fashion accessories

6. Fashion accessories online

So I’m going to copy the related search terms and demographic region into a word processing program and move on to…

Amazon.com Go to Amazon.com and click on the book department and type in the first related search term.

fashion jewelry

As you can see, if you’re going to do that, there are plenty of books that talk about it. But it’s okay. I’m going to click on the first three search results and see what they’re about and what other books are related to them. I’ll also see how many reviews there are.

Related books give me an idea of whether this specific niche has broken down further and what books are being bought related to the main book.

Well, I can see from my output that the first one is heavily based on designer jewelry and the related books contain a few more ‘designer’ or high-end books, but there are other things as well, like ‘jewelry making’.

That’s a good niche to target and keep in mind if you want to write about jewelry, maybe you’re a jewelry maker? Maybe that’s your business or hobby?

Obviously I know that fashion is a very talked about topic so there will be reviews and that’s pretty good because at least it’s a hot topic. And the fact that people buy other related books is also a good way to evaluate a profitable topic.

If you want to stop there, you can, but if you haven’t found your niche yet, do the exact same thing for each related search term you got from the Google Keyword Tool. It can take you a while to find the niche that is well sought after and one that hasn’t been written to death about. You have to find some balance.

For now, I’ll take jewelry making to http://www.google.com and put it in the search engine, only this time I’ll search for forums that contain this search term.

You can do the same if you want to basically see what I see. Type in Google, ‘jewelry making forums’

I clicked on the first link that appears, which is About Forum. Without joining, I can say that there is a lot of activity, a lot of posts, and a lot of views for each post. This tells me that jewelry making is a good niche and one that is well received. There are many topics about stones, necklaces and Gothic Chic. Once again, these are all niche jewelry manufacturing.

So if I wanted to, I’d pick one of those niches and if it was a business that specializes in this, say gems/stones, necklaces, or gothic jewelry, I’d like to write an eBook based on one of those and incorporate how I make it into a business.

It takes time to find your niche, but once you have it and know you can write about it, easily research more information about it, and possibly have a community based around it, you know you’re going to do at least something with your ebook. – because people will love knowledge and images based on that niche.

I don’t want to make identifying your niche too complicated and I have to say that the ‘big guys’ make it quite complicated. We are only taking baby steps here, so just follow this guide and find your niche.

Don’t get too discouraged if your exact niche isn’t doing much. I’m pretty sure not many people have written a book on plus size pinup modeling but I did and it sold well to my site visitors and at this point you just want to tailor your niche to your site visitors because they will. they are useful when you want to expand the world further.

So that’s your next step: find your niche. When you’ve done that, start writing basic notes about how you want to speak in your eBook. Don’t rush, take your time.
