For those unfamiliar with Computer Telephony Integration or CTI, Computer Telephony Integration or CT is a term that refers to the computers that handle voice calls. Most of those familiar with CTI refer to it as computer telephony. The term computer is also used in reference to systems used in contact centers. To illustrate, an example of this type of service is when a phone call must be routed to the appropriate department where the caller wishes to connect. Let’s say the call was for tech support, the operator will answer the call and ask the caller to enter a number that will connect them to tech support. This is one of the perfect examples of how CTI is used.
However, before you can enter the CTI field, you will need to take a pre-employment drug screen. These days, most companies require applicants to pass a pre-employment drug test due to the increasing number of accidents caused by alcohol or drug abuse. Although not all CTI-related jobs require a pre-employment drug screen, the pre-employment medical exam already includes the drug screen. Here are the important things one should know about CTI’s pre-employment drug screen: CTI’s pre-employment drug tests are performed in two different ways. There are companies that will choose to send the applicant to a laboratory of her choice, while other companies already have test kits that look like pregnancy test kits that are sold in pharmacies. The latter option is cheaper than sending applicants to a laboratory for drug testing, but laboratory testing is more efficient.
Although both methods are accurate, instant test kits are disposable. They must be disposed of properly after use. If the test is positive, the applicant has to repeat the test. This time, it won’t be in an instant trial kit. Keep in mind that the drugs stay in your system for up to 3 days. Some medications can last up to two weeks or even longer. On the other hand, there are drug tests that can track drug intake up to 90 days before the test. Therefore, the best option is to stay clean and stay away from drugs.
