The only objective of the players is to defend their food from the flies that try to fly with it, as the player will lose life and the game ends when he takes and leaves with the food at the other end. The game tests the player’s replication ability from the moment a fly appears on the screen until it is squashed and killed. Flies start appearing and try to reach the food stored on the opposite side of the screen and the player must squash them by tapping on them to keep them from reaching it. In case the flies take all the food and fly away, the user loses a life. At the beginning, the player is provided with three lives, and as the flies escape with the food, it decreases and leads to loss of life. Once the flies empty all the food on the opposite end, the player runs out of life.
The game involves two types of flies, namely: Type A and Type B in which Type A further consists of Small Type A and Big Type A flies. When the player kills the small type A flies, he gets 5 points and when doing the same with the big ones of type A they are 10 points. Players have to kill type A flies to get points, but not type B flies as they are not dangerous to the game. These flies do not grab food, so there is no need to hurt them. If they are injured, they will take 20 points off the scoreboard and are too powerful with options that can even end the game.
There are various bonuses and gameplay elements like sprays, combo bonuses, lives, and electric waves in the Fly Smasher game. There are two types of sprays and the first will kill the flies immediately while the second does not kill them immediately but slows them down and takes a long time to reach the food. The hearts keep moving on the screen in the same direction as the flies and collecting each heart will add an extra life to the game. The electrical wave can be used to kill all flies that come across it with one shot. There is a combo bonus that rewards the player with 100 points once the player kills 10, consequently type A flies continuously.
