It might once have been an insult to call someone a nerd, but these days, with nerds being some of the richest people on the planet, being known as a nerd is a compliment. One of the things that all nerds have in common is a passion for science fiction. Who among us can resist the allure of traveling to distant stars and mingling with the exotic life forms that may exist on other planets?

Now you have the opportunity to bring your passion for aliens and spaceships to the comfort of your home. You can make it exquisitely by decorating your fish tank with some of the coolest sci-fi fish tank ornaments. These ornaments come from some of the most famous science fiction movies and TV shows and will make a great addition to your collection.

Let’s start by looking at some of the different types of sci-fi aquarium decorations that you can get.

The Doctor Who Aquarium Collection

Doctor Who is a television series that has stood the test of time. The alien entity known as The Doctor who travels through space and time in a police box known as the TARDIS, fighting Daleks and Cybermen, has captured the imagination of millions not only from the UK, where the series began in the US. Also.

In the Doctor Who Aquarium Collection, you have a TARDIS replica that looks worn with a huge hole in the top. This makes it the perfect cave for your fish. You can also choose between two Dalek colors; yellow and red. As for the Cyberman, there is a complete figure, as well as a Cyberman helmet that also functions as a cave and also as a background decoration.

The only thing missing from this collection is The Doctor, which is really a shame because I would love to incorporate it into this design.

Alien Worlds Collection

Besides Doctor Who, you can also create your own alien world by combining various other sci-fi tank ornaments.

The first would be the spaceships. One guy introduces a UFO that crashed into a small hill. The boat is intricately designed and the hill contains a really pretty cave. Apart from this UFO, there is also a more colorful childish type that is attached to the tank aerator and moves along with the bubbles.

For the aliens, there are more than a dozen different types to choose from. These come in numerous colors and range from snakes to tentacles to googly eyes.

To create an impressive effect, you can place a fish tank background that represents the stars or a space stage.

If your tank isn’t big enough or you’d rather have just one tank topper, a great one to get is the Alien Skull. This skull has really large oval eyes that allow the fish to enter its large cranial cavity.

Using LEGO science fiction sets

LEGO has some really impressive sets that depict scenes from various sci-fi movies. The ones I’ve seen in abundance come from Star Wars. With nine of these sets, you would have complete tank decorations that you could place inside your aquarium to create your own unique design.

The great thing about using these LEGO sets is that it comes as a complete scene and doesn’t require you to buy anything else.

But when using LEGO in your aquarium, remember to wash it thoroughly first and soak it in running water for at least a day or two to remove any chemical residue. Also, Lego floats on water. This means that you would have to find a way to weigh the pieces. I prefer to use aquarium glue to glue them to the rocks.
