In this rift crafting guide, you will learn that crafting refers to creating or upgrading items that are used in the game. Crafting professions generally rely on materials being collected, crafted by other players, or purchased from NPC vendors. This means that crafting professions produce useful items.

Here, characters can create items from resources such as weapons, runes, or potions. Runecrafting is a profession in Rift that creates magical runes to enhance or add stats to equipment and weapons. Runes have a single-use option, though multi-use runes may be available in-game or with later recipes. The Rift Collector’s Edition included an all-purpose rune that added +3 resistance to a weapon.

Needs in Rift Crafting

Novice crafters serve as the first trainers in learning the craft. And in every zone you enter, you should always look for novice crafters to prepare you on what to expect. Remember to master this craft profession, if you decide to unlearn it, you will be back to square one.

In Rift, the professions are not ideal for any archetype or soul. There are no profession-based specials that increase the crafter’s character stats only. You simply need to decide what you want to make, preferably something you can use yourself.

manufacturing areas

There are four locations where you can craft items and each profession requires you to be in one of the four locations. To craft, you need to be at a Loom (Butcher Shop), Forge, Workbench, or Lab.

1. The butcher shop obtains hides, bones and teeth from animal carcasses. Butchers can produce leather from hides on a loom.

2. The forager gathers plants and wood logs, and crafts planks and lumber from these logs at a workbench.

3. Mining extracts the ore from the nodes. Miners can smelt ore into bars in a Forge.

4. Laboratory: The Apothecary creates Flasks, Potions, Filters, Tonics, and Vials.

Collecting Rift Crafting Professions

You can gather materials and resources that can be used to craft things with crafting professions.

– No additional items are required to gather materials.

– Materials can be stacked up to 50 in a slot.

– Resource nodes share spawn points.

– Patch 1.1 increased the number of resource nodes and decreased their cutoff times.
